Rangeen is now Main Rony Aur Jony

Rangeen is now Main Rony Aur Jony

First time producer Nandita Singha is gearing up for her first movie Main Rony Aur Jony. The working title of the film was Rangeen. However, now the name Main Rony Aur Jony has been finalized. Priyanshu Chatterjee will be seen in the lead role of Rony. Who plays Jony is suspense. There were some media reports that the producer had a fall out with the director. But this is what the producer had to say. "There is no fallout with the director. The product/movie has to be competitive and entertaining. It didn't meet my expectations. After a mutual discussion, we amicably parted ways. I went ahead and re-shot 50% of new scenes and dialogues. Now the audience will decide."

Koena’s unique gift to her grandmother

Koena's unique gift to her grandmother

Actress Koena Mitra has turned filmmaker. Koena, who had been to Kolkata to receive an award for my performance in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena learnt that her 70-year old grandmother who stays at Kolkata, was quite curious about her life in Mumbai. Therefore the actress decided to shoot her life in the form of a film and gift it to her grandmother on 4th March on the eve of her birthday.

Koena asked a close friend to shoot the film. This 45 minute film shows her life in the dream city of Mumbai. She has recorded her Oshiwara apartment along with her car, pets and pooja room and sends it across to her nani.

As per her grandmother's request, she has also recorded Siddhivinayak Aarti. Koena said that her grandmother was interested in seeing the Siddhivinayak Aarti so last Tuesday she reached to the temple at 4 in the morning and recorded the aarti from the plasma screen outside, as authorities don't allow shooting inside the temple. Koena informed that she has also decided to record the interior and the exterior of her make-up van with her handycam.

Bollywood Music Awards evoke nostalgia in Trinidad

Bollywood Music Awards evoke nostalgia in Trinidad

Indo-Asian News Service

Mumbai/Port of Spain, December 9, 2005

The long awaited Bollywood Music Awards were given away in Port of Spain in what turned into an outpouring of Trinidad's nostalgia and love for the Hindi film industry.

A packed-to-the-rafters audience went into raptures as the Bollywood Music Awards 2005 for outstanding achievements were presented to top singing sensations at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, reports Bollywood Trade.

The musical extravaganza drew thousands of people from all over the Caribbean, the US and Canada, where the audience could see a host of their favourite stars in flesh and blood as well as enjoy live performances.

The Master of Ceremonies was the popular and stunningly beautiful Kiran Maharaj who kept the audience enthralled and engaged throughout the event.

Ravi Bissembar of the band Karma opened the evening with a breathtaking performance of the hit song Mangalam Ganesham. Popular Caribbean artist Indar Kanhai and the local Shiv Shakti dancers gave the event a powerful Indo-Caribbean flavour.

Hot international pop star Raghav performed his top-of-the-charts hits: Angel Eyes and Can't Get Enough. Remix King Harry Anand had the audience on their feet with his chart-busters.

Kumar Sanu mesmerised the audience by singing a medley of his hit songs. The young and charming Babu Supriyo was up next to shake up the audience with his mind-blowing performance. Udit Narayan had the women swooning with his romantic numbers.

"I am highly impressed by Mr. Tony Maharaj and C.L. Financial who did a job par excellence in terms of management, promotion, coordination and execution. Trinidad is undoubtedly one of the best venues for an event of this magnitude and scale."
